So this weekend, Shea, Cole, and I went to Atlanta for our anniversary, honeymoon, and Shea's birthday all in one. We realized that this was probably our only trip for the year, besides thanksgiving and Christmas, which is to go see parents. But it was a trip we needed and neither of us have ever been to Atlanta before. The reason we went was because the Mets were playing the Braves, and it was a state close enough that we could drive to it in about 5 hours. Not too bad (Cole slept pretty much the whole way, which was great)
We left Friday morning and got there in the afternoon, and we just decided to stay in for the night, because Shea drove and my car doesn't have cruise control, so he was slightly aching. (don't blame him I probably would too). So we went out on Saturday, to the underground mall at five points. Next time we really need to walk around more above ground, because I heard that there are a lot of shops to look at. But we had Cole and we knew that we had to make it back in time to get everything for the game. So at around 3:30 ish we were off to the Marta (the same thing as the T) and got off at Georgia state and then walk to Turner Field. Cole had it easy he was being carried by Shea.
We were getting excited, because as we were walking a ways, Shea saw the olympic rings that were by the field. All the ushers thought Cole was adorable, and of course asked all the usual questions. As we were walking into the stadium, the Mets were warming up, and of course Shea was so excited, because this is like his team.
He bought Cole an infant Mets hat to wear to the game, even though it was for a 6 month old, so it was kinda big on him, but it was still cute.
We were sitting right next to the Mets bullpen, and it was great, because it was like we could almost touch the pitchers... lol...

The game was great, some of the people around us were interesting..and Braves fans.. :( but unfortuantly the Braves won, but oh well, the Mets will be better tonight. But it was funny, one woman who was sitting behind me was telling me that the pitchers kept looking over at me and smiling... (at Cole of course) but I asked Shea just to be funny, "were they actually checking me out, or just the baby". Cole was pretty good for most of the game.
He slept during at lot of it, except when he was hungry, then the screaming began... It was a lot of fun, the other amuzing thing is that Cole can fit in Shea's glove...
Halfway through the game, the ushers passed out a sheet saying that we had to move, because they were going to do fireworks right after the game ended, and it was for safety reasons that we move. Okay, that is fine and dandy, but when we were walking out of the stadium, they set off the fireworks, and they were literally right above us, like there were little pieces of the fireworks falling on people. It was insane. That was one thing that Cole really hated.
But all in all, it was a really great weekend.. Now...off to do finish laudry...
